For over 30 years, Marillion have been considered one of the most innovative and musically diverse bands on the English music scene. It would be wrong to reduce the band to their big hit "Kayleigh" and their album "Misplaced Childhood", which sold over 7 million copies. On the contrary, the Brits always effortlessly proved their great changeability and maintained over the years their unique sound, loved by millions of fans worldwide. Not to forget: their incredible live shows!
Since 2002, Marillion has been putting on a very special event every two years. In England, the Netherlands and Canada, the band performs three different music sets - consisting of fan favorites, rarities, 20-minute epics or even complete albums. Fans travel from all over the world to be part of this event, this fan family. In 2013, the festival took place from March 22 to 24 in Montréal, Canada. The band performed their hit album "Sounds That Can't Be Made" in full for the first time there. In addition to the eight songs from the album, the band also performed five Fan favorites: from "This Strange Engine" to "Garden Party", the most successful single from the debut album, every fan wish was granted. Never or only rarely performed, "Garden Party" from the Fish era was the as the absolute highlight of the evening.
