"After two solo albums and sold-out headlining tours, MYLES KENNEDY (Alter Bridge, Slash ft. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators) will release his new album The Art of Letting Go on October 11, 2024 via Napalm Records. On his third stroke of genius as a solo artist, Kennedy, rightly called "one of the best rock singers" by KERRANG UK, once again demonstrates his exceptional musical sensibility He let his intuition guide him completely. The Art of Letting Go is the follow-up to the globally acclaimed The Ides of March (2021), which achieved four No. 1 spots (US Top Current Hard Music Charts, UK Official Rock & Metal Charts). (such as Official Independent Album Charts and Canada's Hard Music Albums Chart). The album received rave reviews and was streamed millions of times. RIFF Magazine described it as "a fantastic record you must listen to." Classic Rock magazine is convinced: "The Ides of March confirms Myles Kennedy as a musical powerhouse."
In 2023, Kennedy returned to Studio Barbarosa in Florida to record with producer Michael "Elvis"" Baskette, with whom he had been working for several years. Together with his bandmates Zia Uddin (drums) and Tim Tournier (bass), he approached the recordings with a clear and coherent vision: while his previous releases featured more acoustic and traditional elements, Kennedy & Co. deliver one with The Art of Letting Go. Record with a more riff-heavy, guitar-driven sound.
MYLES KENNEDY introduces the album with the groovy lead single "Say What You Will." In "Nothing More To Gain," the drums pound on a hurricane of fast riffs and the bridge emphatically asks the question, "When are you going to learn? The bluesy "Saving Face" with its driving beat and sing-along chorus is accompanied by captivating, soaring harmonies. "Miss You When You're Gone" captivates with striking guitar work that exudes a carefree lightness, while lyrically the piece is surrounded by an "everything is fleeting" aura. The finale, "How The Story Ends," evokes a final soulful solo and purging chorus, inspired by the personal importance of actively standing up for your own interests and needs. With The Art of Letting Go, MYLES KENNEDY empowers his fans, shows that there is always a way out and conveys a sense of belonging. Kennedy says himself, "I realized that you don't have to prove anything to anyone but yourself. Do your best; be aware of your talents and use them." MYLES KENNEDY did just that. The art of letting go is once again the proof."
