Absolute Elsewhere by Blood Incantation is nothing like anything you've ever heard before. Few can claim a sonic turning point as easily as the quartet from Denver, Colorado. The album's two compositions last about 45 minutes and are as perplexing as they are compelling in their scope. They fuse the 70's prog tendencies of Tangerine Dream (whose Thorsten Quaesching can be heard on "The Stargate [Tablet II]") with the deadly intent of Morbid Angel. Blood Incantation has already proven itself by perfecting progressive death metal with 2019's Hidden History of the Human Race, while with 2022's Timewave Zero it entered the territory of exclusively synth-driven soundtracks. Now, with Absolute Elsewhere, which takes its title from the mid-'70s prog collective (best known as a celestial stopover for King Crimson drummer Bill Bruford), Blood Incantation abandons the notion of genre and writes its own new language for extreme music.
